Ice Cream made from Bananas?
It looked too easy - ice cream made from four frozen bananas processed in the food processor until it became smooth and creamy. Add a scoop of peanut butter, some cocoa powder and it's done.
I tried it with 2 of my kids. They loved pulsing the food processor, and of course, licking off the spoons! End result looks just like the picture above, and tastes pretty good for fat-free, low sugar ice cream! I would add some mini chocolate chips or some chocolate sauce to mask a bit of the banana flavour, but it's a quick, easy dessert that we will enjoy again!
Liquid Soap from a Bar
When I saw this post on making liquid soap from bar soap, I was interested. With four young boys, we go through a lot of soap. I remember trying this years ago growing up, using the leftover pieces of soap from soap carvings. We kept adding boiling water to the soap, but it never stayed liquid.
I followed her instructions, and the key ingredient is a tablespoon of glycerin. I used 3/4 of a bar of soap, added it to 10 cups of water, and I was skeptical, because it had the consistency of milk. But as it cooled, it thickened up and became the same texture as regular liquid soap. I was able to fill 3 large bottles with it - all from 3/4 of a bar of soap. Someone is making a lot of money in this process somewhere! I also added 5 drops of lavender essential oil for a nice scent.
I will definitely be doing this again!

Foam-erator
This Foam-erator looked really easy and fun.
We tried it here with mixed results. I think the plastic bottle I used was too thin and flimsy, so when I put the elastic on, it tended to collapse a bit. We got some foam, but no long snake-like strips like in the original picture. We used bubble solution, but maybe a more concentrated solution made with dish soap might be better. We'll try it again sometime!

Baked Onion Rings
These Baked Onion Rings looked delicious.
I didn't have bread crumbs, so I ground up some Rice Krispies, along with the Corn Flakes. Added a bit of seasonings, and they turned out quite well. Two things I would have done differently:

- I let them bake a little too long because I wanted the onions to be soft and cooked, not raw and crunchy. As a result, they ended up a little too crispy.
- I sliced them using the widest setting on my mandoline slicer, but I think they still ended up too skinny. I'll have to cut them by hand last time.
T-shirt Shrug
First up: this post on Pinterest - creating a Jane Eyre-type shrug out of an old t
-shirt. I looked up the instructions on the website and it looked incredibly easy.
I found a t-shirt that I no longer wear, because it isn't as long as I'd like it to be.
After about 10 minutes (cutting, pinning, sewing included), I was done, and this is the finished product. I'm really happy with it, and it was incredibly easy.
I quickly sewed up another t-shirt which I no longer wore.
I have plans for a black t-shirt, which would make a cute little sweater to wear over a dress. This would work really well with a little lacy t-shirt, making a very cute lacy sweater. It could even work with a 3/4 length sleeve or a long-sleeve shirt. I'll be thinking twice before getting rid of any more un-worn t-shirts!
